My daughter's ( in San Diego ) courgettes. Both over 3 lbs, and she's had others, they eat the whole thing and assure me the taste is just as good as the small ones.

They are marrows when they get so big!

Yea, was gonna say, depends if you like marrow or not - I only eat courgettes when they're baby size...

She certainly is the avid gardener. She obviously avoided all the pitfalls which can compromise fruit quality - water, temperature, length of time on the vine. A huge accomplishment. They look great.

Large courgettes taste exactly the same as small ones - nothing like a marrow which, to me is a horrible watery thing!

Knowing how to grow them and when to pick them is key and the variety matters as well - there are many pitfalls to be avoided along the way. They will peak at a certain point and then decline if left too long on the vine.

Definitely you not cucs B, I've just arrived in San Diego and seen them - and she fed me with shredded courgettes mixed with other veg as she's a pretty strict vegetarian herself.
