I am determined to fill my Dry Shade bed this autumn, and have been "Googling" for inspiration. If anyone has any Really Reliable suggestions (apart from Epimedium, Hellbores, and Stipa Arundinacea (now called Anemanthele) I'd be very grateful!

Geranium macrorrhizum, G. phaeum, Claytonia sibirica and Saxifraga stolonifera all do well for me. There's also Iris foetidissima if you like it - it's not to eveyone's taste, but the bright seedpods in winter are great.

Many thanks Grandmage and Spritzhenry . . . I agree about the Geraniums, and have several - they are great, particularly Rozanne (or Roxanne) which is now in its second flush. I will try the others (once I have looked up Claytonia which is unfamiliar to me).

It's a great little plant - it seeds itself once you have it, but easily pulled out. Little pink flowers, and I think you can eat the leaves! It's a member of the Purslane family.
I expect I have a photo on my garden list if you feel like a look-see. :-)

Mr S! A look-see seemed like a good idea . . . I was having a lovely virtual browse round your garden . . . got to page 17 (out of 190), "hovering" over all the pink flowers, then belatedly realised there must be a quicker way. Found it (of course) under Ground Cover 'C' :-). I think you may have solved my puzzling over a little pink wild flower that I saw in Orkney in June, too. Thanks again!

Try Mrs S. or just 'Spritz'.....LOL. Glad you found it, but a quicker way is to go to my home page, and all my plants are in alphabetical order under the 'my garden' tab. You'll enjoy having it in your garden, if you can track one down. :-)

Thanks for the tip Spritz . . . I'm just not very computer-literate (some would say I'm a "technoprat"!); but I'm learning gradually. Btw, your plants are fantastic!

LOL. Thanks for the compliment! :-)))
