Our local counsel replanted tree outside my garden about 2 years ago. It is a different Varity than the rest of the trees on the road. I would appreciate if someone could identify the tree outside my garden. This year I have notice something like a chestnut growing on it, as seen in the photo

Looks like Sweet Chestnut, Castanea sativa.

It will become a huge tree so I hope its not really near your boundary!
But you might be lucky and get useable chestnuts off it!

Thank you Landgirl 100, I Googled Sweet Chestnut on Google and the photograph is similar.

Thank you Steragram, It is about 5ft from my boundary wall. Do you think I should ask the council to remove it

There is plenty of chestnuts on it, it could bring back memories when I played conkers as a child, Maybe I could play with the grandchildren, I was quite good in my day.Lol

I'd let it be if I were you. Time enough to complain when it eventually overhangs your garden - you might have moved by then! Just enjoy the chestnuts...

How do I say thanks?
