We have a Bosch battery one. Works well enough for us. The petrol engine one we had worked the first season and then never again.

I'd recommend you buy or at least try one from a shop rather than on line if you aren't very tall. We had one that vacuumed the leaves up as well and the bag trailed on the floor and came unhooked when I tried to use it. People and models vary and you need one you are comfortable using.
