On my walk around the village the other day I saw red and mauve poppies in bloom! I had to look again. Mind you with this warm weather here, (21 C yesterday in North Shropshire) I'm not surprised.

Hi Ann and welcome to GoY, which particular 'poppy' do you have flowering? We've still got Mecanopsis cambrica in bloom, not at all surprised!

Yes our Our Welsh Poppies are still flowering and a Foxglove too.

I've had a poppy bloom in late November, it was a lovely surprise.

I’ve got spring flowers in bloom. Aubretia, campanula, antirrhinums and Welsh poppies. The lupin is in its third incarnation and is competing with pinks and spring flowering geraniums. My acer has developed new green leaves and there are new blooms on the honeysuckle.

I’m flummoxed by the weather so the plants must be. Today the sky went very yellow, the wind was strong and the light was very weird. I think here we must have caught the fringes of the downgraded hurricane.
