My cousin who lives near Colchester tells me her Golden Delicious apples are huge and plentiful this year but have very scabby skins. How Can she avoid this problem next year ? Can get a photo if required.

yep if there are brown bits inside then it is bitter pit caused by calcium deficiency. fruit is edible either way.

Its Apple Scab. Look up that on the web for info on what to do. If there are brown marks inside the apple that can be calcium deficiency.
