We have several bay hedges in our communal garden and the leaves are going brown. It could possibly be a small insect but not sure. please give advice as to how to cure the problem.

Hi Jennifer and welcome to GoY, more information plus a good photo of the affected hedging required - why makes you think it is an insect?

Bay hedging? Is it really Bay, or is it Box? Photo would be useful

Or perhaps bay laurel?

Bay laurel is the same as Bay - both are Laurus nobilis, so far as I know, Steragram

Oh dear, sorry. Just thought I'd never seen bay as part of a hedge and assumed that perhaps it was a laurel. So had a google and it says it makes a fabulous evergreen hedge. I will know another time.
