Is this a Nootka Cypress ?
I believe this is a this type of chamaecyparis and assume it is nootkatensis. Is that right, and if so, what would you say are the distinguishing characteristics I should look out for to distinguish it from hinoki, lawson etc ?

Thanks for that. I find it a bit tricky differentiating bw the false cypresses.

Actually I just had a comment from someone saying that the cones of nootka have points on them and these ones dont and are more like lawson cypress. ie I'm still confused !
