Christmas palm had 4 stalks with creamy flowers. My landscaper cut them off? Why? Its March, is it too early to let them grow for the xmas red fruit? Will lthey grow again this season?

I was just going to respond the same way tug. I wonder if it will re-bloom in the summer and then ripen in time for winter.

Thank you Tug and Seaburngirl for your quick response. I do appreciate the information and will let you know when or if it does grow any new stalks. Yes, it does normally sprout these in August and this is the first year I had 4 of them. (previous 3 years it only had 1-but it is more mature now I think) I was so excited, they really look beautiful at Xmas season and I also hang color ornaments from the bottom fronds at that time. Looks wonderful and they last a long time. I will let you know what happens. Thanks again.

Welcome, Jitern!
I have had a bit of a struggle finding info on when it is supposed to bloom, but the consensus on the little that I have is that it blooms in midsummer, so March does seem a bit early. I don't know if it will bloom again at the proper time, either...or if fruits from these flowers would have ripened properly, if left!
I did find out that many gardeners view the fruits as just one more source of garden debris, so they remove the flowers when they appear, as with most other palms. It's possible that your maintenance person was influenced by this viewpoint, or may simply not have known what kind of palm he/she was dealing with.
