What sort of medium do I need to plant my succulents in.
They will be arranged in big dish shaped container.
Thanks for any ideas that you can give me ?

Yes a gritty compost will be ideal. I do my own mix funnily enough pretty much the same recipe as Bulbaholic.
the grit will discourage vine weevil a bit.

You can buy cactus compost already mixed for the job. If your dish has no drainage holes be careful not to overwater.

I would use a loam based compost such as John Innes (JI) #2 mixed with an equal amount of grit. I hope that your container has drainage holes as they will be needed. Add some pieces of rock amongst the succulents and keep the container in a bright but cool place.
