I have bought an aubergine plant in a pot and have kept in the pot watering and feeding regularly. Some stems where they branch out have gone mouldly and the skin has become soft and comes off when touched. what does it mean?

I'd guess that you have overwatered the plant or that its roots are standing in water or that it's been in a place where conditions are too humid and there isn't enough air. Aubergines like very warm conditions but fairly dry. They grow well here in central France outdoors and watered fairly little and I find I get better results than in the polytunnel where conditions can be too humid.
