Hello. I want to take cuttings of a Weigela, how & when can I take them or is there a site that I can look at with a video, I tried Youtube but they only go on about pruning:o((

They are very easy to do, last year I took quite a few hard wood cuttings of weigelia Bristol ruby which are doing very well, and last July I took some semi ripe cuttings, these I left in our French garden in a shade situation where they had to fend for themselves, in November when we returned they had all taken.

All I have ever done is to stick the prunings in a slit cut in the ground next to the shrub. Push the pieces down into the slit and forget about them. Most will root.
