well I think sedge or rush. usually damp/moist areas are the preferred location for many species .

Thank you both. Stems are not three sided but worry it might self seed everywhere. Mmm... might have to go into the plant sale!

Are the stems three sided? If so then it looks awfully like a Sedge. Some of them are absolute horrors of seed weeds.
