do you mean in containers Peter?

If you are planting in containers Peter much better to use fresh compost as there will be little nutriment left in the old compost. If you are planting in the ground then so long as you have good fertile soil that is all you need.

Yes. I meant using up (Sort of Recycling) old compost but giving it a good feed of nutrients. I seem to remember that you could just plant bulbs in fibre..Thanks for the replies.

Much better to use your old compost from pots as a mulch in the garden.

You can plant bulbs in fibre, Peter, but they would only last one season, as they'd be dependent on theur own nutrients. There isn't any in bulb fibre.
