Well my sweet peas survived a week without me! They have grown a little but were very pleased to be watered when we returned home. Should they twine round the bamboo canes themselves I used rings last time I grew them but seems to recall my Grandad just grew them up canes.Mind my memory is a bit dim these days!

they use tendrils that will twine around a support. I usually use a fine mesh in the lower ft of the supports. but not for 6" above the soil so as not to trap hedgehogs etc.

You'll need to give them a little help at first. Then they'll get the idea.
