I think its ribes odoratum. This a yellow-flowered form and the leaves are somewhat different to the common ribes sanguineum.

Well, we thought that originally, but the leaves have no scent. I thought all ribes smelled strong. We’ve not seen the flowers yet.

my laurel leaved ribes doesn't smell and nor does Ribes speciosum in my garden . but it does look like a ribes to me too. perhaps you have pruned it at the wrong time .

Sophie, I have to say that I bought one some years ago. When I bought it, it was in flower but since planting, it hasn't flowered. I have pampered it with plenty of potassium but to no avail. I still live in hope!
