I have some Agapanthus in my border which look lovely but they do tend to drop with the weight of the flowers. Can anyone recommend a small but sturdy shrub or plant to place in front of it for a bit of support?

Never thought of that Spritz, may have to see how it goes then. I have some annuals in front of them now and so will have to try and plant my perennials as close as they will allow maybe. Thank you very much for the comment.

Please do - I love Agapanthus, but NOT the roots! I'm always trying to plant things near them, and then find that I can't. :-((

Good idea Cristina, or I may buy some very small plug plants (I bought some a few weeks ago and they don't need a deep hole). But they will have to be quite strong if they are to support the Agapanthus.

That would be great!

It would be if you could get planting close enough - my garden is closely planted, except around the Agapanthus plants. Sorry - I wish it did work!

Spritz I have moved one of my big boulders in front of them and they are standing up a lot better than they did, and the boulder won't be visible when I have finished planting up (or that's the plan!)

I think you would find it very difficult to plant anything near enough to support it, Bellflower. The roots are so fleshy and spread out so far from mine, and near the surface, that I find even annuals difficult to plant.
