I run a children's day nursery and I want to plant a copse for them in September. Where do I start?

Hello Stan and welcome to GOY. There's hudreds of people on here who can help, but if you gave some sort of size, soil type, location, even a photo of the site, it would be more helpful.

Hi Stan, nice to hear from you! :-)

You could plant trees that have been growing in pots in September, but you could cut the cost enormously by waiting a couple of months and planting bare root trees and shrubs between November and March. You could use the intervening time to plan what to plant where and to prepare the ground.

I find that bare root "whips" (very young trees) which are very cheap to buy get started growing really quickly and they'll soon catch up with larger trees that would have cost a lot more.

How do I say thanks?
