My 3 geranium Rozanne have stopped flowering already, early August. Is this usual? I thought they would go on for longer and last year I cut them back but they didn’t start again. Many thanks

Mine's in shade but has struggled a lot this year. It's dry shade to start with though.

Yes mine too have been poor and the flowers seem much smaller.

I gave mine a chop at the start of June. I've had to remove two of them because they were overwhelming their neighbours. But the last one standing is still flowering well and its in a raised bed so it hasn't been spared from the drought.

I didn’t dead head them this year. I cut them back last year when they stopped flowering midsummer and they didn’t come back. I think I’ll try cutting back some stems and see how they go. Next year I’ll try cutting back in June along with the Johnsons Blue, thank you cottagekarer. As it was voted ‘ plant of the century ‘ I think I was expecting miracles! Well at least good flowers all summer. I love these geraniums, any suggestions for long flowering ones or do they all give up midsummer?

Hi Valk, my Geranium ‘Patricia’ is still flowering healthily.

I think I might have cut Patricia back about three weeks ago, but can't quite remember! Just love the deep pink colour, and thought it might be a good one for Valk . . .

Rozanne is sterile so does not produce seeds so no need to dead head ,I do though just to keep it looking tidy I have quite a few hardy geraniums and none of them have flowered this year like they should, as any one else had the same trouble

Thanks for that Taz. I didn't realise it was sterile.

Interesting. I've been wanting to get this plant for some time. Is it reasonable to expect it to flower throughout August in a 'normal' Summer?

Thank you everyone. I’ll try Patricia in the future and keep on with Rozanne .

Do you remove the dead heads or leave them on? I always remove them from my Geraniums to keep them flowering, later on I'll let them make seed. I nearly lost my Rozanne though as I had planted it in the wrong place( didn't realise how hot it was going to be). I dug it up & put it in a pot in the shade & it recovered, phew! Will get planted somewhere shadier in Autumn.
