Umm...the tree, or the spot on the lawn?

Need a better photo. Try one with the sun off and showing the whole plant and one leaf or spray of leaves.

On second look, the plant in the foreground isn't a tree, but more likely a kind of rose trained on a bamboo stake. Likely a species or old heirloom, judging by the number of leaflets. I still don't know if Dave is asking about the plant in the foreground, or the spot in the lawn in the background.
