I have dug up a patch of Crocosmia Lucifer and want to replant some of them elsewhere. Is it OK to divide the clump and plant straightaway or pull off the spent corms and leave till next spring.

I wouldn't worry - I tend to pull mine up just after they have flowered rather than wait til the leaves become brown and mulchy. They have always grown wherever I've transplanted them.

I would have waited until they had died down in the autumn. Whilst it still has greenery, it will use that to regenerate the corms for next year. If you have already dug them up, then I would find a place out of the way and replant the whole clump including the soil until the spring.
