My Cercis canadensis died this year after being perfectly healthy up to last year. I had it about 15 years. Don't know if it was the wet summer last year and a cold winter.

Probably succumbed to the Beast from the East. After a relatively mild winter, many plants had started into growth, were budding, and then in Feb/March, that weather arrived and it was freezing for ages... and some plants bit the dust,or looked very sick for a while afterwards.
