leycesteria formosa golden lanterns, another ebay bargain @ £3.69! I would like any tips or info on its care, pruning etc. I've never had one before, but I'm very pleased with it, ithe golden leaves looks lovely:-)

Easy to grow virtually anywhere. It has a sort of herbaceous way of throwing up strong stems from the base even though it is a shrub. These flower on the tips then branch a year later and flower off these. Its more of a bright gold in full sun and a lime yellow in shade. Comes true from seed as the many small yellow seedlings in future will testify all over your garden :-)

Prune in spring hard or selective. Doesn't really make too much difference though selective pruning of really old stems to allow new growth from below is probably the most fruitful.
