I also have a hedge of Hypericum Summers Gold. It is about 5 ft tall and looking a bit tired. How do I give it a new lease of life? Someone told me I could trim it right down to approx one foot above ground and it would grow back quickly. Is this correct? It does seem drastic though, is there another renewal pruning method?

I've had the tall Hypericums in all my gardens and they too are as tough as old boots !
If you prune these hard back they too will bounce back.
