Bamboo forgesia Rufa or Murillo? Is anyone growing either of these? I wonder which is preferable - thanks.

Thanks very much Derek. I’m planning to have it in a large pot in a shady corner. I like the idea of arching canes, so will choose F rufa . . . just the type of info I was hoping for, so I’m very grateful :)

You're welcome Sheila, Derek.

Hi Sheila, it depends what you want it to do, I would say that Fargesia murielae would be the best for a hedge, it forms a dense clump of evergreen, slender arching canes, up to about 13 ft, while F rufa, although clump forming, the canes are well spaced, and only grows to about 6ft, usually less, as they are arching as well, Derek.
