Somebody handed me this pack of French Beans. Any advice on how to grow them? Thanks

OK thanks, so they don't need to climb up anything?

No, they are a bush type only growing to about 10 inches. Pick the beans when they are young for the best taste and texture.

I usually put some supports in so they stay vertical as the place I grow them is windy. Pick when young [3-5"] with little in the way of beans in the pod. boil/steam about 10 mins and enjoy.

Thanks that sounds real good Eileen.

If they produce more than you can eat at the time, then lightly blanch them and freeze. They keep very well with little loss of taste or texture.

That's good news

hi here I sow them in pots in early May [no extra heat needed in the greenhouse] and plant out in large pots/ground in early June after all risk of frosts have gone.
