I want to move a clump of autumn flowering crocus. the greenery is above ground now. When would be the best time to split and move them.

I would concur with Seaburn's reply. Leave them in the ground for as long as possible then lift when you feel that you won't rememeber where they are if left longer.

personally I'd wait until the foliage is yellowing and then lift and replant straight away in their new position. they will be 'feeding' the bulb and hopefully initiating the flower for next year.
