I have a new fig tree ( precoce de dalmatie) - received Jan 2010 as a 6 inch shoots. It is now 4 and a half foot with no figs.
I also have a brown turkey which started the same size (6 ins) is now about 2.5 foot and has 15 figs which are nearly there. Both are in pots.
Questions:
Should I be pruning the dalmatie ? How do I get it to produce figs?
Will the figs on the Brown Turkey ripen this late ( they are about half size and green) -or should I take them off..
I'd really appreciate help
Thanks

Hi Christa sorry I cannot comment on your first Q' but the Brown Turkey produces fruit as you describe the first year, but it takes until the second year to be ready for harvesting. I'm sure someone will help with the dalmatie.
