i have planted some box trees in a small front garden and wish keep them small by regular clipping but i am worried the roots will grow large which will not be suitable for me.if i keep the box tree clipped will that keep the roots small also?

Yes. Hopefully you've chosen the smaller Buxus microphylla (max 3 feet) or B. microphylla 'superba' (12 inches) anyway and not Buxus sempervirens, which reaches 13 feet if left.

Even Buxus sempervirens when clipped will do the same and as you are going to clip them, you will have no problem with any Buxus. As said above, the roots will not get too large when clipped.

How do I say thanks?
