I am going to plant my foxtail lily bulbs I bought. Would I be advised to plant them in pots first and let them get going and plant out in spring, or should I put them straight into the ground. Just a bit concerned at them rotting if I do this.

If your soil is free drained and in a sunny spot, plant them now outside. I wouldn't "faff" around with pots first.
