I have done cuttings when the plant is starting to ripen, so harder at the bottom and soft at the top. I have also had success doing layering.

Well, we're like minded people.... I placed a new trellis in the garden and I thought that I would like to give my " Old Faithfull" Clematis a fresh new beginning in another location. My Best Regards SBG.
