I bought this hosta at the supermarket. Turns out to be my favorite one. It will eventually put out large purple flowers. It never had a name. Can anyone ID this? Thanks!

there are 100's of varieties. have you tried looking on the hosta group website. I don't know if you have your own cultivars in the states/ breeding programme like you do for daylilies. But in the UK there are many.

I'm sure there are hosta groups here in the US. As you said, there are 100's of varieties but who has the time or patience to sort through dozens and dozens of look-a-likes? Doesn't really matter, but I like the name 'Afterglow'. It also looks like 'First Frost'.
