Hello - I've got a major problem with a topiary box cockerel which has been in the garden since at least the 1970s. It's about 8 feet tall and has very quickly developed box blight, almost destroying the whole plant. I can't see caterpillars so am assuming it's blight. There a large topiary chicken about 40 feet away and I'm assuming, sadly, that I'll have to cut the plant down before it spreads to the chicken. There's nothing else I can do, is there?

If you do have blight, best practices suggest bag. burn and remove all infected plants. It can quickly infect all other plants around it & do not compost infected plants. Most products I've seen are for prevention.
