Best kept in full sun & lightly watered otherwise the red will fade to plain green. When you see the leaves with bright light behind them they're slightly translucent & the colour of jade. You can tell when they need a drink by gently squeezing the leaves, if they're firm they're okay but if they feel soft like overripe fruit then give them water. They'll get corky, brown patches if regularly over-watered.
Potted on every couple of years they can get pretty big too. I had to trim my 8 year old one when it got 3 feet wide & wouldn't fit on the windowsill any more😊

If they get enough light, the make clusters of starry pale pink flowers in late winter, early spring.

So I've read, Tugbrethil! I shall move it out onto the balcony in a week or two's time after I have it arranged for the summer.
