Can I ask about Rosemary Beetle? What do you do about them? I've been picking them off and transporting them to another part of the garden telling myself that I'm giving them a chance. More like condemning to a slow death of starvation? They are so beautiful. What sort of damage would they do if I left them alone? Found one on a sage plant too. Is the foam I find on the rosemary where they are hatched?

I agree with Bulbaholic. the beetles can fly so don't worry it wont starve it will fly back to your rosemary ;o)
however the frothy foam is called cuckoo spit and has a frog hopper living in the froth. it is a sap sucker but not considered to be a pest.

Bulba and SBG, Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was a recent addition to our wildlife.
Well, I certainly didn't think they could fly but I do seem to be getting more and more every day so it's the same ones coming back! Haha I can't stop laughing.
And thankyou for the links. I'm in a quandary now about what to do with them.

Rosemary Beetle and its larvae eat the leaves of Rosemary and related plants. It is a recent invader from Europe and spreading rapidly. More information here:
