Hi all, I have a deep pink rose clambering over a fence above the rockery, in front of the "bund" hill.
Can't recall the name of the rose, but I've noticed minuscule white insects all over the buds. Saying that, it seems "healthy" as such. Would the insects be thrips? Any advice on getting rid if possible?
Many thanks.

Thank you Seaburngirl, that’s a big help. I’ll try the soapy water first, just with having the pond, as you advised.

possibly young greenfly. I can just make out what look like their cast skins on one of the buds. if you can squish them or wash off woth saodpy water in a spray. if you really want to you can use a chemical spray to kill them. don't let the spray drift onto/into the pond though as it is harmful to fish.
