I have bought tomato plants from the nursery labelled Ailsa Craig, they are very strong plants with lots of fruit on each truss but are very small tomatoes, does anyone have any ideas about these, could they have been wrongly labelled. We have grown tomatoes for many years and never had this problem before.

I have grown this variety many times and the fruits are about 1" -1 1/2" diam fruit and very tasty. memory is of a leafy sturdy plant.

All I care about is the taste. Is this something I want to eat? The consensus seems to be yes, it's a good tasty tomato. So enjoy them. These I fry up a bunch for breakfast with bacon & eggs, salt & pepper.

Hi, solanum lycopersicum, 'Ailsa craig' isn't a very large variety, only medium sized, it's grown for its flavour, rather than its size, a semi greenback variety, which matures quite early, so I would just leave them and see what happens, Derek.
