Does anyone grow the yellow meconopsis?
I bought two last year in August from a specialist who told me that they only flower once and then I would need to collect the seed and grow some more. The plants have survived in my garden but have not produced any flowers. Any advice would be appreciated.

I agree with Bulbaholic. Should stay evergreen too.

Thank you. I was naively expecting it to flower this year.
How should the plant be looked after over winter, will it need any protection from frost? It is in quite a sheltered position in the garden.

I don't do anything for them in winter. They are quite hardy.

Thanks again for your advice....hopefully they will grow on and flower.

That looks like a young plant of Meconopsis nepaulensis and, as your seller advises, it will flower once and then die. They sometimes take two or three years to reach flowering size so you do not need to do anything with it just now.
