any chance of a picture? if the holes are perfectly circular then its likely to be a leaf cutter bee. if irregular notches then possibly vine weevil adults. is the plant in the ground or a pot?

As there are holes in the centre of the leaves and not on the edges, then I would guess at caterpillar damage. The best remedy would be to inspect the plant(s) regularly. The other possibility would be leaf miner and you would need to spray with a systemic.
