Gtech Cordless Hedge Trimmer
Been thinking of buying this to make cutting the hedge hopefully easier and wondered if anyone has one and what do you think of them. Thanks in advance. Jen

Tried a GTech strimmer but the charge didn't last all that long so it depends on the length of your hedge. The battery was quite heavy to carry about as you strapped it round your waist so that would be worth checking..The blade on the strimmer was plastic and kept coming off and getting lost in the grass. Don't suppose this helps re hedge trimmers though. My feeling based on OH's experience that you're better using a plug in one putting up with using the trailing cable and being careful not to accidentally cut it...
Recommend whatever you choose you buy locally rather than on line so you can check weight, ease of holding etc.

I also have a Bosch mains electric hedge trimmer. I find corded best for me as although I only use it a couple of times a year I have no need to wait for it to charge. Very pleased with it but Sue, I did lose concentration for and a moment and guess what? I managed to cut through the cable.

Thank you all. We have a corded one that we were given years ago by a friend coz he had cut through the cable and then I Sue did the same in spring lol. Tim has mended it again 😂. What I liked the look of the new gtech one was it was a pole cutter so wouldn't have to use a ladder and also head angled. But wasn't sure how good it would be but after your comments about how useless the strimmer is, I don't think I will bother. Thanks again.

Jen, since you mentioned a pole cutter, I have a high hedge and have to use a ladder to reach the top. I have been considering one from Toolstation. The Einhell 900W High Reach Electric Hedge Trimmer GC-HH 9048 is a good price and will cut at an angle so might be worth a look. Has anyone else bought one of these?

I think the choice between corded and battery has a lot to do with age. I find my battery runs out of go long before the battery on my Challenge 18v hedge trimmer gives up so that's fine for me.

Thank you Jimmytheone, hubby was looking at toolstation and screwfix last night lol. He said something about this brand. I will have to have a look myself.
Thepoisongarden, can understand that, sometimes I forget that I'm not as young as I once was and feel it in evening and hubby nags me for overdoing it 🤣. Think he was thinking of a cordless one after I went through the cable on the one we have got this spring.
