I would like to start off my tomato plants on the window sill. Good idea or not please. When would you sow the seed?

End of February. We have a short growing season here in NY so this give me a good head start. I usually grow peppers along side my tomatoes. Peppers will certainly benefit from an early start.

Many people do but I would do them mid March when they wont sit indoors before planting out either in the ground or glasshouse.
