A hawthorn hedging plant I ordered, has been delivered and it is actually five rooted stems. I'm not sure what to do. Should I plant them individually? I'd prefer a central trunk like a tree rather than several of them. They weren't intended to make a hedge.

well you have 5 'whips' so plant them individually and when they start to go into leaf select the one you like the look of the most and plant that where you want it to be in your garden.
