Can i save my photinias from root rot, lots of heavy rain recently ?

if they are not sitting in water for more than a week they will sort themselves out. if the ground is very wet you could try spiking the soil with a fork to open up the soil and let more air in. Hope this helps

Kimp, are they actually flooded out, or are they in a heavy, slow draining soil? Not much that you can do about the former, other than pumping out what water you can and waiting. For the latter, I would spike the soil, like Sbg recommends, and apply a fair amount of gypsum, about 2 kg per 9 sq. meters. Bacillus amyloliquifaciens also helps the plants to resist root rot, but I don't know if that is available in Oz, or not.
