I own a Cordyline and it has started to show yellow spots. For the past couple of months it has also started to grow brown tips and little bits of brownness on the leaf margins. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

is this indoors? you often get sun scorch on the edges of a leaf when it exudes small droplets of moisture. if it is move it away from direct sunlight.
if out side it could be wind damage. but not really sure.

Dracaena deremensis 'Lemon Lime', actually. Low humidity and/or too much chlorine in the water are the most common causes of what you describe. If it is only happening to the lowermost leaves, it might just be time to cut those leaves off.
