Leaves on rose have died - any help much appreciated
I’ve got a very old climbing rose in the front of my house which flowers really early. It gets the morning sun. The leaves were growing well but after a recent very sharp frost they all wilted and haven’t recovered. I wonder if it’s because the frosty night was followed by a very warm sunny morning. Is there anything I can do to save it ?

Thank you very much. The soil is starting to feel very dry underneath the rose so is it worth watering and then mulching with some home grown compost?

yes if its very dry and they always appreciate a mulch. Despite all the rain we have had in recent months there are some very dry areas in my garden now.

The chances are it will re sprout new leaves soon. prune the dead leaves off once new growth has started on other parts of the stem.
