Hello, I moved last year from a Victorian terraced house with a small walled garden which I’d managed over the years to make pretty with nice soil
I’ve moved to a 1980’s house with small/medium size back garden. It’s never really been loved. It’s very square with a lawn in middle. The borders are very narrow and are between the path and the fence and there are a couple of trees and a few shrubs The soil is terrible, very heavy clay and full of stones/rock/tiles from the original building of the estate. At the bottom the border has been covered with layers of weed fabric, some layers really thick
I can’t easily cut through the fabric to make holes to plant into. It needs a lot of inspiration and hard work! And some love!
