Hi Everyone. I hope you are all managing to stay safe.
I haven't been around for a few years, but would like your help to ID a plant in a pot for my daughter. It has small white flowers and has thrown out new foliage this spring. Best Wishes, Alan B

I thought it was the dark form of the common cow parsley? Anthriscus sylvestris Ravenswing Black Cow Parsley

If it grows into a woody bush, it is the elder, but that pot looks kind of small to support that. If the flowers are in a kind of wiggly spike, it's the snakeroot. If the flowers are a flat topped cluster, it's likely to be the cow parsley. The elder also has ftat topped clusters, but it isn't going to bloom if it is pruned to the ground every winter.

Thank you Tugbrethil, Thrupennybit and Honeysuckle for your suggestions, I'll try and do a bit of research myself now I have some pointers. I will also ask my daughter about the flowers.

I think the Anthriscus is the most likely.

Previous question
Maybe one of the purple-leaved forms of snakeroot (Actaea)?
