I have a small collection of acers.
they are all doing well except the first one which I have had for around 10 years. It appeared to be budding nicely, but the buds have not produced any leaf growth and appeared to have died off. The stalks of the plant still seem to be green inside.
Any ideas what the problem might be.

Or it needs a bigger pot...

Some come into leaf much later than others. We have two just outside our window; one has been in full leaf for a good week now and the other is still in tight bud. This happens every year.

Are they in pots or in the ground? If they are in pots I suspect it may just be lack of water.
