Is cupressus goldcrest the same as cupressus macrocarpa goldcrest? Trying to replace a couple of cupressus goldcrest that we planted about 5 years ago, but macrocarpa goldcrest look like different plants?

They are one and the same....its just some are sold under the full name and others with only the first and last part.

If they look different, maybe you had Cupressus macrocarpa goldcrest 'Wilma' before, though I always thouight they were the same as 'goldcrest' anyway.
