Help please Has my very old rose died? It is usually very early flowering so did start to get new leaves until a very hard frost about ? 6 weeks ago. I did post on this site so watered it and fed it but it still looks completely dead. Is there anything I can do to save it or should I just get something very quick growing to climb up it - if so what might work? Thanks a lot for any help

I would think it has just had a frost shock killing off new young growth. Be patient unless it was a very hard ground frost where the roots have been killed I would expect it to recover. scrape the bark lightly and see if there is any green showing. If so just wait till it recovers.

« I have just noticed this on one of my shrubs any clues people?
Well my roses are shooting forth and starting to bud up. This rose had no signs of life at all. I'd say it's finished and now's the time to run to the garden center for a new one.
